Dr. Christie Beck is originally from Alabama and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Chemistry. She completed medical school at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2006, earning both the Roberts Key and AMWA Glasgow-Rubin achievement award for graduating 1st in her class. Dr. Beck was honored with the Barton Scholarship for a 4.0 GPA and is a member of AOA honor society.
She remained in Little Rock for her Ob/Gyn internship and residency at UAMS. Prior to graduation in 2010 she was recognized for Outstanding Achievement as the Chief Resident in Gynecologic Oncology.
She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and holds membership as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Her practice interests range from adolescent to post-menopausal women's health care. She welcomes adolescent patients for anticipatory guidance visits, to discuss menstrual problems, Gardasil vaccination, contraception, and infection screening.
During the reproductive years, her obstetric practice includes caring for women seeking natural childbirth, including the option for natural cesarean delivery, prenatal care in collaboration with a doula, and supervision of vegetarian and vegan diets in pregnancy. She takes a holistic approach to pregnancy and is focused on delivering conscious mothers by helping women connect with their babies and bodies through educating them about the choices they have during their pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Dr. Beck is Little Rock's only Khalsa Way® certified prenatal yoga instructor, having studied at the prestigious Golden Bridge Yoga school in Hollywood, California, with Gurmukh, the pre- and post-natal yoga teacher to high-profile students including Cindy Crawford, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Courtney Love, and Reece Witherspoon. Dr. Beck offers private consultations for prenatal yoga and meditation.
She offers a functional medicine approach to gynecology and obstetrics and is both a certified Food For Life instructor and spokesperson in Arkansas for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. She is a contributing writer at VegSource.com and co-founded Kickstart Your Health Little Rock (www.kickcstartlittlerock.org) with the Physicians Committee.
In the post-reproductive years she offers annual exams, alternatives to hysterectomy, and specializes in vaginal and vulvar refinement. She is a member of the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians.
During the menopause transition, she guides women through decisions regarding hormone replacement, with a focus on diet and lifestyle changes as well as bio identical hormones.
She was recognized by Little Rock Soiree' Magazine's Women to Watch in 2011.
She is an active in many philanthropic efforts around town. She sits on the board of directors of the Arkansas House of Prayer and is a proud sponsor of Rock the Runway 2013 and 2014.
Aside from her clinical practice, Dr. Beck has been honored to speak at many important events across the state. She is currently accepting applications for speaking events, and prior speaking engagements include the American Heart Association Arkansas Chapters of the Circle of Red and Red Tie Society, keynote speaker at the 2014 Arkansas Ovarian Cancer Coalition's Survivor's Luncheon at the Governor's mansion, keynote speaker at the 2014 Arkansas Birth Fair, and 2010 Arkansas ACOG Convention. She has been invited to the Baptist Health Perinatal Conference in 2011-2013 to lecture on continuing education topics including Preeclampsia, Diabetes in Pregnancy, and Obstetric Hemorrhage.
